According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have approached Feyenoord with a second bid for their star striker Santiago Giménez. The Premier League side saw an initial €25m bid rejected on Monday, but they’re not backing down just yet. This time, they’ve offered €30m for the Mexican which is likely to be too low for Feyenoord.

Giménez, 23, has netted 53 times in 89 appearances for Feyenoord, making his mark as one of the best Eredivisie strikers in recent years. Last season the former Cruz Azul man scored 26 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances as the Rotterdam club finished second in the league and lifted the KNVB Cup. Santiago Giménez played a pivotal part in Feyenoord’s 2022/23 title winning campaign as he netted 23 times.

Nottingham Forest have identified the Mexico international as their top target to strengthen in attack but also have eyes on Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah if this move fails. Feyenoord deemed the first bid for Santiago Giménez as far too low, meaning this could be a tricky move, especially as his current contract is valid until 2027. However, he could be exactly what Nuno Espírito Santo needs this season as the Reds aim to push up the Premier League table.
