The winger was substituted after just 25 minutes on Saturday
Notts County winger Jodi Jones has issued a positive update after being withdrawn in Saturday's win over Morecambe.
Given the Maltese winger's injury history, there was plenty of concern after Jones was forced off witha problem after only 25 minutes.
The 27-year-old suffered three cruciate knee ligament injuries at his former club Coventry City and has missed over three months already this season due to a fractured shin.
Saturday marked the fourth straight game in the starting 11 for Jones after a handful of appearances off the bench after recovering from the aforementioned shin issue. However, there were concerns that he was hit with another setback as he continues to work his way back into the fold at Meadow Lane.
Luckily for himself and many Magpies fans though, the setback will only be a brief one for Jones, and it may not be long before Notts County has one of their most dangerous assets back.
After their recent win over Morecambe, Jones took to Instagram to update Notts County fans on his status.
His story read: "Thanks for the messages. Nothing serious, only minor," which will come as a relief for many Notts County fans.
After a series of knee injuries that limited Jones to just 17 league appearances in four seasons between the 2018/19 and 2021/22 seasons, any time Jones is forced off through injury, many fans hope it's nothing too serious.
Fortunately enough, this seems to be the case and, whilst there isn't a set time frame for Jones' return currently, it shouldn't be too long before Jones is back on the pitch.
Notts County fans will be delighted at the news that Jodi Jones' injury isn't as serious as perhaps many feared, given that, when at full fitness, it's arguable that Jones is one of the best players in the fourth tier.
The 27-year-old won the PFA Player of the Year in League Two last season after a record-breaking year which saw him boast a staggering 24 assists, breaking the record for most assists in one campaign in the top four tiers of English football, which was held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
So far this season, Notts County have only tasted defeat twice in the 13 games in which Jones has featured - one of which was his return on New Year's Day vs Walsall, where he made a 16-minute cameo.
In the 14 games he missed during the recovery from his shin injury, his side only won five times, which perhaps shows how integral he is to creating chances down the flanks.
With the play-off race in League Two wide open, fans of the Magpies will be eager to see their star man return sooner rather than later as they continue to aim to achieve a second promotion in three seasons.
