FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against Valencia soon, and it is an important one for Hansi Flick’s side. To ensure that they remain competitive in the league, La Blaugrana will be aiming for all three points. Anything else would be disappointing, and Barcelona are fully aware of this.
However, ahead of the game, reports suggested that Hansi Flick could end up choosing a slightly different lineup for this game. Still, the Barcelona coach has decided to field a rather competitive starting eleven, and all the players on the pitch will be working for the victory.
In goal, Polish veteran Wojciech Szczesny will be the player to defend the Barcelona goal. The Pole has made some unwanted errors recently but this could be his opportunity to turn things around and leave a good impression this time around.
Over in the centre-back partnership, Pau Cubarsi and Eric Garcia are paired up together to defend the Barcelona goal. They will need to be on their toes in order to make sure that Valencia does not get any unwanted or unnecessarily easy chances to score.
On either side of the two centre-backs are Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde as the two fullbacks. They will need to assist the team both from an offensive standpoint, as well as a defensive one as Hansi Flick’s side will rely on them for width.
Ahead of them, the two defensive midfielders for this game will be Marc Casado and Frenkie de Jong. Both of them will be tasked with helping the team maintain a controlled tempo, especially with Pedri unavailable, while also ensuring that they act as the link between the team’s attack and defense.
The two forward wingers for this game will be Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. Both players will be looking to create issues for the opposition, and they will try to ensure that Barcelona gets the goals that they need to get all three points. Fermin Lopez will start between them as the primary attacking midfielder, and he will look to aid them in doing so.
Lastly, the centre-forward for this game will be Ferran Torres, and the Spaniard will look to be the primary goal threat to Valencia. However, he will need to make sure that he is not wasteful, as that is something that Barcelona has been accused of being this season and that is potentially why they have lost their place at the top of the La Liga table.
