Barcelona Juvenil A (U19) have been crowned the champions of the UEFA Youth League after they thrashed Trabzonspor in the finals in Nyon today.

Ibrahim Diarra, having joined the club in the winter, has made a big difference and got the ball rolling with the opening goal in the 11th minute before Andres Cuenca made it 2-0 seven minutes later.

Hugo Alba then added a third for the Blaugrana’s youth team ten minutes into the second period before Diarra completed his brace.

Trabzonspor did manage to find the back of the net, but it was too little too late as Barça Juvenil A held on for a comfortable victory.

It is the team’s third Youth League victory after they previously won it in 2013/14 and 2017/18 – ending a seven-year drought in the competition.

It also means that Barça Juvenil A are the most successful team in the UEFA Youth League, going past Chelsea, who have won it on two occasions.

With Barça Femeni in the European finals and the men’s first team also in the Champions League semi-finals, the Catalans have a chance to achieve something historic this season and win three European crowns.
