Bundesliga side Bochum have today announced the signing of Pierre Kunde from Olympiakos on a six-month loan – VfL have an option to sign the Cameroonian midfielder on a permanent basis.
Kunde already has Bundesliga experience having played for Mainz between 2018 and 2021 before his move to Greece. The 27-year-old scored four and created one in 68 league games for M05.
During his time at Olympiakos, Kunde played 39 games across all competitions, registering one assist and picking up four yellow cards. Just one point behind Stuttgart, who occupy the relegation playoff, Bochum find themselves 17th with four points more than bottom-club Schalke.
Since replacing Thomas Reis as head coach, Thomas Letsch has won four of his eight Bundesliga games in charge, giving Bochum a good chance of avoiding relegation with early wins against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt – all of whom have superior squads.
Bochum resume their Bundesliga campaign against Hertha Berlin on January 21.
