Marseille have officially confirmed the signing of Faris Moumbagna (23) from Bodø/Glimt via their official social media accounts. The Cameroonian striker has signed a 4 and a half year contract at the Stade Vélodrome lasting until 2028.

Moumbagna is currently participating in the African Cup of Nations for Cameroon, so will have to wait for the conclusion of his country’s participation at the tournament before he will be able to make his OM debut. The deal to sign the 23-year-old is set to cost Les Olympiens a fee in the region of €8m, according Fabrice Hawkins.  In the Eliteserien last season, the Cameroon international forward scored 15 goals and assisted a further eight.

A threat to Vitinha’s future?

Following the signing of Moumbagna, Marseille have amassed an impressively large cohort of options in central attack: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (34), Joaquín Correa (29), Faris Moumbagna and Vitinha (23).

The latter’s future could be under threat following the signing of the Bodø/Glimt striker, according to Foot Mercato. OM would even be willing to listen to offers in the region of €20m for the Portuguese striker, according to Fabrice Hawkins.
