Juventus confirm Gleison Bremer suffered a knee injury against RB Leipzig, so he will undergo surgery in the coming days.

“This morning, Gleison Bremer and Nico Gonzalez underwent diagnostic tests at J|Medical, which revealed an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the left knee for the former and a low-grade injury to the rectus femoris of the right thigh for the latter,” Juventus said in a statement Thursday morning.

“Bremer will undergo surgery in the coming days.”

The Brazilian centre-back had been subbed off after just six minutes in Juventus’ 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

Unfortunately, the outcome of this morning’s exams was entirely predictable as the 27-year-old entered the J Medical on crutches Thursday morning.

Bremer has started eight games from eight across all competitions this season and had never been subbed off prior to last night’s game in Leipzig.

His recovery time remains uncertain and will probably be announced by Juventus once Bremer undergoes knee surgery.

The Brazilian defender joined Juventus from city rivals Torino in the summer of 2022. He has scored eight goals in 91 appearances with the Old Lady.

Juventus’ next Serie A match is against Cagliari at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Sunday, October 6.

The Bianconeri sit second in the league table and have six points in two Champions League matches.
