In an official statement, Lyon have confirmed the permanent signing of Duje Ćaleta-Car (27) from Southampton. The Croatian international defender spent last season on loan with Les Gones and they have now exercised a purchase option to make the transfer permanent.

The transfer of the former Marseille defender is set to cost OL an initial €3.6m. The deal also includes a further €2.1m in bonuses and the newly-promoted Premier League club will receive 15% profit of any future sale. Ćaleta-Car played 29 games for OL last season.

Within the statement, Lyon also confirmed the permanent signing of Mama Baldé (28) from Troyes following his loan spell. The Guinea-Bissau international is set to cost Les Gones a total financial package of €6.5m including bonuses. Troyes will also receive 10% of any future sale of the player. John Textor tried to convince Baldé to join OL’s sister club Botafogo but failed in his attempts.
