AS Monaco have officially announced that Maghnes Akliouche (22) has extended his contract with the club for a further two years which will keep him at his formative club until 2028.
Last season represented a breakthrough in Akliouche’s career with the attacking midfielder picked 31 times across all competitions for Monaco where he scored eight and assisted four. Akliouche’s performances as Monaco secured 2nd in the league and Champions League football have earned him a role in France’s Olympic squad.
They’ve also seen Akliouche the subject of a wave of transfer interest with clubs like Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Crystal Palace all attempting this summer to convince Monaco to part ways with their young talent. However, as was reported by Get French Football News, Monaco and Akliouche never appeared interested in an exit.
As Monaco’s CEO, Thiago Scuro confirmed to us during an interview, “It is his decision and ours that the priority is to stay. We are in good conversations with him and his agent about a contract extension.” Those conversations have now been finalised and Akliouche’s future appears to now be settled.
