Forest said Origi and other players, including Gio Reyna, Nuno Tavares, Gonzalo Montiel and Rodrigo Ribeiro “have reached the end of their loan spells on Trentside.”

Origi, 29, joined Milan on a free transfer from Liverpool in 2022 but failed to impress in his first season at the Stadio Meazza, scoring just two goals in 36 appearances across all competitions.

He was loaned out to Nottingham Forest last summer, but the ex-Liverpool striker had another disappointing spell at the club, scoring just once in 22 appearances.

After his season at the club, Origi was no longer part of Stefano Pioli’s plans, and it remains to be seen if the next Milan coach will rely on him in 2024-25.

Origi earns €4m per season at the Stadio Meazza and his contract with the Serie A giants runs out in June 2026.
