Nice have today announced the departure of Romanian winger Rareș Ilie, who joins Maccabi Tel-Aviv on a loan deal running until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old arrived from Rapid Bucarest this summer and has made eight appearances for Les Aiglons so far, half of which have come in league action while the other four were during the team’s Conference League campaign. He has yet to register a goal or an assist for the club.
During his final season in the Romanian capital, the attacker scored six goals and notched ten assists in 37 matches, attracting interest from Nice, who moved to sign him for a reported €5m fee.
Ilie has faced Maccabi, who sit second in the Israeli league after twenty fixtures, earlier this season, having been Nice’s opponents in their Conference League qualifying tie at the start of the campaign. The Israeli transfer window expires today, meaning the transfer could be completed in time.
