Stade Brestois 29 left-back Bradley Locko (22) has sustained an Achilles tendon rupture, according to a report from L’Equipe. The outlet understands that the 22-year-old defender was on the verge of signing for Premier League side Nottingham Forest. Locko was also of interest for Tottenham Hotspur and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Locko returned to training on Tuesday on the back of his 2024 Paris Olympic Games’ commitment with Thierry Henry’s U21 side. Locko clinched a silver medal with France and was arguably one of Ligue 1’s best performers in the left-back role last season. Locko was included in GFFN Ligue 1 Team of the Year.

Brest confirmed in a statement that medical scans revealed that Locko ruptured his Achilles tendon during a training session this Friday. He is expected to miss eight months of action and miss the better part of the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 campaign. It is a considerable blow for Eric Roy’s Pirates as they gear up to play in the revamped 36-team Champions League on a shoestring budget. Locko will undergo surgery on Monday.
