OGC Nice have announced the signing of Moïse Bombito (24) from Major League Soccer franchise Colorado Rapids. The 24-year-old has put pen to paper over a four-year deal with the INEOS-owned Ligue 1 club. The 12-time Canada international has been identified by Les Aiglons as the ideal replacement for Jean-Clair Todibo (24). The France international has left the French Riviera to join Premier League side West Ham on a loan deal with an option to buy for a reported fee of around €40m.
“I am very happy to join OGC Nice“, Bombito said. “It was the right time for me to take the next step in my career. I will discover Ligue 1 and the Europa League at the same time, I feel ready. I am very ambitious.” L’Equipe understands that Nice’s outlay for Bombito will rise to €7m, without including bonuses. Bombito may make his debut for Franck Haise’s Les Aiglons this Sunday with Nice hosting Toulouse FC for Ligue 1’s second gameweek. Nice have lost away to Auxerre for their season-opener.
