Real Madrid will face off against arch-rivals Atletico Madrid in La Liga in under two hours at the Civitas Metropolitano – the stage of their last defeat in the league which came last year.
Having since been on a 39-game unbeaten streak in the competition, Los Blancos will be eager to return home with all three points tonight.
And, ahead of the game, manager Carlo Ancelotti has announced the Real Madrid starting lineup that will take the field against Diego Simeone’s men.
As expected, the manager has reverted to the 4-4-2 diamond setup in the injury-enforced absence of Kylian Mbappe.
Captain Luka Modric comes into the team as the fourth midfielder, along with Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham, who occupies the attacking midfield position – a role in which he thrived last season.
Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes line up as the two forwards for the reigning champions, with Endrick on the bench.
Meanwhile, Dani Carvajal is back in the team at right-back after missing the Alaves game due to injury. Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, and Ferland Mendy form the rest of the Real Madrid defence that shields Thibaut Courtois in goal.
