After the disappointment of missing out on the Ballon d’Or, Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. has been crowned The Best FIFA Men’s Player for the Year 2024 at The Best FIFA Football Awards gala today.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a stunning season in 2023/24, helping Real Madrid win La Liga, Spanish Super Cup and the UEFA Champions League. Post that, he also added the UEFA Super Cup to his tally at the start of the current season.

Naturally, he was seen as the favourite to win the Ballon d’Or but was pipped to the honour by Manchester City’s Rodri.

But Vinicius has now won the The Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year honour, collecting the award at the gala in Qatar today.

The 24-year-old megastar saw off competition from teammates Dani Carvajal, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Federico Valverde, along with Toni Kroos, Lionel Messi, Rodri, and Erling Haaland for the prestigious award.
