Former Serie A star and Juventus director Pavel Nedved has been appointed as the new sports director of Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab.
The Saudi side has confirmed Nedved’s appointment on social media.
Serie A legend Nedved had not had a role in a football club since the Juventus board resigned in November 2022.
Nedved was the Juventus vice president back then, but he had also served as a director and board member after the end of his career.
Nedved spent eight seasons as a footballer in Turin, scoring 65 goals in 327 appearances. He won two Serie A titles at Juventus and agreed to play in Serie B in 2006 after the team was relegated due to the Calciopoli scandal.
Ironically, Al-Shabab share the same colours as Juventus. “Black and white for me is everything,” Nedved said.
Nedved also played for Lazio, winning the Serie A title in 1999-00.
Nedved will reunite with ex-Fiorentina and Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura, who signed for Al-Shabab last summer, and coach Fatih Terim, who also worked in Serie A with the Tuscans and the Rossoneri.
