RC Strasbourg Alsace have announced the signing of Colombian winger Óscar Perea (18) on a five-year deal.

Perea, who has just six months remaining on his deal after featuring 44 times for Atletico Nacional in 2023, left the Colombia U20 training camp to undergo a medical earlier this week before completing the move to Strasbourg in a deal reported to be worth around €5m.

He has signed a five-year deal with Strasbourg, but naturally, due to the club’s BlueCo owners, this is also a transfer made with Chelsea in mind in the long term. Perea is considered one of the brightest talents in Colombia’s next generation of players and therefore his recruitment is in line with BlueCo’s overall strategy of signing young, high-potential players, especially from South America, which has become a big focus for the owners.

RCSA will now continue apace with their other transfer plans. The Ligue 1 club are notably in the market for a left-back and look to be advancing in talks to sign Atalnta’s Caleb Wiley.
