La Liga outfit Valencia have on Monday announced the decision to part ways with head coach Rubén Baraja with immediate effect.
As much, of course, comes amid what has been a tumultuous campaign to date for all associated with the club.
Valencia currently find themselves joint-bottom of the La Liga table, with just 12 points accrued from 17 fixtures to date.
Los Che have racked up just two points from an available 15 across their last five outings, most recently requiring a last-gasp injury-time equaliser to secure a share of the spoils at home to Deportivo Alavés on Sunday.
And it was this result which evidently proved the straw that broke the camel’s back for those behind the scenes at Mestalla.
This comes amid confirmation that manager Rubén Baraja has been relieved of his duties.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms on Monday afternoon:
‘Valencia CF have decided to bring to an end Rubén Baraja’s time as first team coach.
‘The club would like to publicly thank Baraja for the passion, dedication and commitment that he has shown from the first to the last day of his tenure in charge.’
