Official | Wolfsburg sign Maximilian Philipp on loan with purchase option

Wolfsburg have this evening announced the signing of 26-year-old German striker Maximilian Philipp from Dinamo Moscow on loan with an option to buy.

The former Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund attacker left Germany for Russia in 2019 for €20 million but has failed to hold down a regular place at Dinamo Moscow.

“In Maximilian we’ve brought in the high-quality reinforcement we’ve been looking for. We were interested in him last year, so it’s all the nicer that it’s worked out now. Not only can he play in a number of positions in attack, but his presence, commitment out on the pitch and his unwavering will to win make him the kind of player who can make the difference,” said sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
