Süper Lig outfit Alanyaspor have announced the signing of winger Zinédine Ferhat, who left Nîmes at the end of last season on a free after a three-year spell with Les Crocos, who since last year have played in the second tier.
L’Équipe report that the Algerian international was also the subject of interest from Ligue 1 clubs Lorient and Nantes, but has instead opted to move to the Turkish Riviera side, where he has signed a two-year deal
The 29-year-old leaves French football after six years, divided equally between Le Havre, who he first joined from USM Alger in 2016, and Nîmes.
Ferhat has had a difficult time in Ligue 2 marred by injuries and a desire to leave, and was initially looking to return to the top tier, after scoring 6 goals and assisting 10 during an impressive 2020/21 season in Ligue 1.
He rejected Saint-Étienne last month, while Angers, Lorient, Montpellier and Celtic were all interested in a move back in January. Instead, the wide man has joined last year’s 5th-placed team in the Turkish first tier.
