Aston Villa faced off against Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a win on their travels in the Premier League. The Villans made a solid start to the game and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Joao Pedro finally broke the deadlock between the two sides in the 87th minute as Unai Emery’s men crashed to a narrow 1-0 loss away from home.
Let’s take a look at how each Aston Villa player fared during the clash against the Seagulls.
GK: Robin Olsen – 8.5/10
Olsen made a lot of crucial saves at the back but would be disappointed after conceding a late goal.
RB: Ezri Konsa – 6/10
He got stuck in with some solid tackles but offered very little going forward.
CB: Diego Carlos – 6.5/10
Carlos did his fair share of defending but failed to keep a clean sheet this afternoon.
CB: Pau Torres – 6.5/10
Torres performed his defensive duties well but it was not enough today.
