Andre Onana hit back at Nemanja Matic after the midfielder called him "one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United's history," by taking a jab at Matic’s lack of silverware at Old Trafford.

The row started when United's goalkeeper claimed in a pre-match press conference that United "are way better" than Lyon, and he was sure they would win the clash.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder fired back, saying, "If you're one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United's history, you need to be careful with what you say."

Onana, who won the FA Cup in his first season at United after joining from Inter Milan for around £47m, didn’t take long to respond. He made a sly comment about Matic’s barren trophy haul at United.

On X, Onana posted: "At least I’ve lifted trophies with the greatest club in the world. Some can’t say the same."

Matic, who was signed by Jose Mourinho in 2017 for £40m, spent five years at Old Trafford without winning any silverware.

United now head to Lyon for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday.
