Osasuna resumed preparations on Monday for their crucial match against Barcelona on Thursday at Montjuic.

The fixture was originally scheduled to be played in the first week of March but was postponed due to the passing of the Blaugrana’s first-team doctor, Carles Minarro, hours before kickoff.

With the game set to be played this Thursday, Osasuna manager Vicente Moreno has a number of headaches to deal with due to the potential absence of key players.

Unai Garcia not in training

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Osasuna defender Unai Garcia did not participate in the training session with the group today and could end up missing the match against Barcelona later in the week.

The defender is the latest name to be added to the list of absentees, which already includes internationals Ante Budimir and Enzo Boyomo, as well as the injured Bryan Zaragoza.

The report states that only Zaragoza (injury) and Lucas Torro (suspension) are the confirmed absentees for Osasuna at this point, with there being hope that both Budimir and Boyomo can be available.

Garcia’s situation, though, remains unclear at this point. The 33-year-old centre-half, also the club captain, has not played at all in La Liga this season. His only two appearances this term have come in the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona also sweating over fitness problems

Like Osasuna, Barcelona too are sweating over the fitness and availability of some important players for Thursday’s clash.

Ronald Araujo and Raphinha remain major doubts for the game due to their international commitments and subsequent travel from South America.

Meanwhile, Pau Cubarsi’s availability also remains up in the air as he recovers from the ankle sprain he sustained while playing for Spain last week.

Inigo Martinez could, however, be back and ready for the match after resuming training with the group today.
