It has been a long road back to the Manchester City matchday squad for Oscar Bobb. Although he is yet to return, it does appear that the young winger is edging closer to his return from a fractured leg. It has been a frustrating experience for the young playmaker. He has had to take his time as he builds up his fitness after such a long layoff. Oscar Bobb could now feature in City’s squad for their crucial UEFA Champions League fixture against Club Brugge. That would be welcome news for both the young winger and Manchester City ahead of their must-win fixture.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s pivotal fixture against Club Brugge Pep Guardiola was asked about the status of his squad. He told the media that the same players who played against Chelsea are available. But he did add that Oscar Bobb could return at the Etihad tomorrow night. He explained: “The guys who were there against Chelsea are there and I think Oscar came back as well. [John Stones] played 35 minutes [on Saturday] and played really well. We will see today how he feels.

Manchester City will be without several players for tomorrow night’s match. Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Rodri are all out due to injury. Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush are all ineligible for City’s must-win match. If Oscar Bobb does return to Manchester City’s squad for the match it would be a huge positive for Pep Guardiola’s side. He hasn’t played since the FA Community Shield win over Manchester United now it seems that he is almost ready to return.

We will know when the squads are announced before kickoff tomorrow if Oscar Bobb makes his return. But it does seem that it’s only a matter of time before he is back on the pitch for Manchester City.
