Victor Osimhen will be playing Premier League football next season, according to Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong.

The Napoli striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has attracted widespread interest from England’s top clubs. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United were all in the mix for him last summer, and while the latter remains linked, the door isn’t entirely closed for the others.

If the right conditions arise, Chelsea and Arsenal could reignite their pursuit. Liverpool and Tottenham are also expected to be in the market for a No.9, making them potential destinations.

Troost-Ekong confirmed Osimhen’s future plans while speaking to TalkSport: “I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team.

“I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

“I’m also reading, like everyone else is, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray I think it worked out amazingly for him.

“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season.”

Osimhen has been in top form this season, scoring 20 goals in 22 Super Lig matches. His goal-scoring instincts and overall playstyle make him a strong fit for the Premier League, according to Troost-Ekong:

“Finishing is the part he’s working on the most. His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, he’ll chase down every ball. In the air he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him and he’ll hold the ball up.

“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score. He’s direct so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League.”

Napoli has set his release clause at around €80 million this summer, a drop from the €120m figure that was quoted last year.
