Victor Osimhen does not want to leave Napoli on loan and will only consider a temporary deal if it contains a mandatory purchase option.

Osimhen is determined to leave Napoli this summer and has reached an agreement with the Italian side to facilitate a transfer, but there has so far failed to be a breakthrough.

Paris Saint-Germain were leading the race, with Osimhen having agreed to a transfer to the French champions. However, talks between PSG and Napoli have been paused after a difference in their valuation of the player.

Napoli have opened talks with Chelsea over the prospect of a deal, with the Serie A side keen to sign Romelu Lukaku from the West Londoners as a replacement for Osimhen.

A deal that would see Lukaku move to Naples and Osimhen head to the Premier League on loan has been mooted, though the latter will only consider a loan if it contains an obligation to make the move permanent.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Osimhen is against the prospect of a deal in which he could potentially return to Napoli next summer.

A decision will need to be made from Chelsea on whether to pursue the player permanently, with discussions to continue on a potential transfer fee.

Osimhen has a release clause of £109m in his contract at Napoli, though it has been suggested that Antonio Conte’s side would consider a bid in the region of £86m. PSG have so far been reluctant to meet that asking price.
