It is no secret that FC Barcelona have struggled in recent seasons due to a lack of depth at times. With a very limited allowance allocated to the team in terms of spending, it hardly comes as a surprise. However, almost always, Barcelona have managed to find alternative answers to their problems.

Most of the times, those alternative answers have been produced by La Masia. The Barcelona academy, to this day, continues to provide elite talents to the first team and these youngsters often have what it takes to succeed at the highest level of the sport.

However, at times, answers can present themselves from elsewhere as well. As of right now, the club is facing an injury crisis up front with many forwards not fully fit or ready to start for Hansi Flick’s team just yet. In light of these developments, a certain 22-year-old forward may find a window of opportunity.

According to SPORT, the player who could end up benefiting the most from these recent injuries is none other than Pau Victor. The Spaniard, formerly from Girona, has not had too many opportunities this season but it seems like these upcoming games could give him the chance that he has not had so far.

With Lamine Yamal still working towards his recovery, just as Robert Lewandowski is doing as well, Pau Victor is fully fit and ready to start. Similarly, with Ansu Fati also injured now, it would seem that Pau Victor is almost guaranteed to start at this point.

While Lewandowski will likely be back in time to start against Celta Vigo right after the international break, and Ansu Fati most definitely will not, the cases of both Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres are still uncertain. That allows Pau Victor to more or less have a confirmed starting eleven spot in the new few games possibly.

Yet, despite the few opportunities he has had this season, Victor has definitely made the most of them. In 142 minutes in La Liga so far, the Spanish forward has already scored once and has provided an assist as well. His performances last season resulted in the club permanently buying him after his loan expired, and it may now be his chance to show off what he is worth.
