Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Ousmane Dembele will not be included in the squad to face Arsenal in the Champions League this week.
The French side have named their travelling party for the trip to North London on Tuesday night and there’s no place in Luis Enrique’s squad for Dembele. The winger was reportedly involved in an argument with Enrique following the win over Rennes on Friday evening and has been dropped from the squad for disciplinary reasons.
Dembele has been in excellent form to start the season and his absence will be a big boost to Arsenal, as the Gunners look to earn their first win of the league phase at the Emirates. The 27-year-old has scored four goals and laid on three assists in four Ligue 1 starts, for a PSG team who top the table with 20 goals scored from six games.
Paris Saint-Germain opened their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 win over Girona. It will be the fifth meeting between the teams and first since a 2-2 draw at the Emirates in 2016.
Jurrien Timber has said Arsenal will need to play with courage against PSG this week, as the North Londoners take on the French champions.
“I think they are still a really good team. They are really well coached and they have so many good players, world class players. I don’t think we will approach it differently, we just have to be prepared for tomorrow.
“I think a lot of players have played in big games, of course the Champions League is a bit different. I think it is a bit different but it is not really different to the big games we have in the Premier League. I don’t need to tell how they need to play tomorrow or how they need to play in these big games.
“Obviously we need to play with a lot of courage and be who we are.”
