Fabio Pecchia and his Parma will be up against AC Milan tomorrow, hoping for an upset underneath the San Siro floodlights. Speaking to the media earlier today, the manager made it clear that they must play to win.

Parma have won just four games this season, currently sitting in 16th place and just point off the relegation zone, so they need to turn things around. In the last four games, they have lost just once (1W, 2D) and the goal is to continue the ‘positive’ run tomorrow.

Speaking to the media at the usual press conference (via TMW), which Sergio Conceicao opted against, Pecchia shared his thoughts on what Parma will need to do tomorrow. He made it clear that they must play the game from start to finish, having respect for the opponents while also playing their own game.

Will you find space on the counter-attacks?

“The strength of Milan will force us to work a lot without possession and stay low, given their quality. We are facing a big European team. We need to be clear about what to do in defence, and then be proactive when the ball falls to us, forcing them to run a bit too.”

What kind of match do you expect?

“As I was saying before, it’s a match that must be played from start to finish. There are three points at stake, we know who we are facing. Our behaviour and desire to go on the pitch remains the same, we must play to win matches.”

Ange-Yoan Bonny has been ruled out of the game due to fever, but Pecchia will have a couple of new signings to rely on. Our preview takes a look at everything you need to know about the game, so be sure to read that.
