PFA Awards won by Khadija Shaw and Grace Clinton | OneFootball

Khadija Shaw has been named the 2023/24 Professional Footballers’ Association Women’s Players’ Player of the Year, while Grace Clinton won the Young Player honour.

Shaw scored 21 goals in 18 league appearances for Manchester City – including three hat-tricks – becoming the team’s all-time top scorer in the process.

At the awards ceremony, she said: “I am both happy and proud to have received this award – to be recognised in such a way by my peers is a very special honour.

“I also want to thank my teammates and the entire coaching staff because without them this would not be possible.

“I’d also like to congratulate all my fellow nominees who are such amazing players. To have been voted the Player of the Year means a lot.”

Manchester City Women Managing Director Charlotte O’Neill said: “We are all delighted that Bunny has been voted the Players’ Player of the Year.

“Her goalscoring record throughout last season was remarkable.

“But her influence, work rate and example all over the pitch alongside her desire to keep improving have been equally important in helping inspire everyone at the club.”

Manchester United’s Grace Clinton was named the PFA Young Player of the Year in the WSL, the midfielder spent last season on loan at Tottenham, where she scored four times and contributed as many assists, as they reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final.

Clinton said: “To go to Tottenham and get confidence was just amazing.  And to improve obviously personally.

“The aim is always to win trophies with Manchester United.”

The PFA WSL Team of the Year, voted for by the players, was;
