Everton clashed heads with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they hoped to grind out a result on the road in the Premier League. The Toffees made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 13th minute when Cole Palmer got his name on the scoresheet. Palmer doubled Chelsea’s lead just five minutes later before going on to secure his hattrick in the 29th minute. Everton found themselves 4-0 down in the 44th minute when Nicolas Jackson found the back of the net. Sean Dyche’s men went into the half-time break 4-0 down on the scoreline.
Palmer scored again from the penalty spot in the 64th minute before Alfie Gilchrist made it 6-0 to Chelsea late in the game. The match ended with Chelsea suffering a poor 6-0 loss away from home.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the clash against the Blues.
GK: Jordan Pickford – 5/10
Pickford made some solid saves at the back but conceded six times during the game.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 5.5/10
He was far from convincing when defending inside his half but made one decent chance going forward.
CB: James Tarkowski – 5/10
Tarkowski cleared the danger when he could but failed to keep things solid at the back.
CB: Jarrad Branthwaite – 5.5/10
Branthwaite struggled a lot during the game and was replaced in the 56th minute.

LB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 5/10
He failed to catch the eye on the left flank and was a bit wasteful with his passing.
RM: Ashley Young – 5/10
Young put in a disjoined performance on the right flank.
CM: Amadou Onana – 5.5/10
He failed to impress in the first half and was substituted at the half-time break.
CM: James Garner – 5.5/10
Garner earned the ball back once and made one good chance in the final third.
LM: Dwight McNeil – 6.5/10
He caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders but there was no goal for him.
CAM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 5.5/10
Doucoure got stuck in with some solid tackles but failed to make a difference in the final third.
ST: Beto – 5.5/10
He had a few strikes at goal but was wasteful with his finishing.
Substitutes:
CM: Andre Gomes – 6/10
He added some energy to Dyche’s midfield.
RW: Jack Harrison – 6/10
His impact on the game was minimal.
RB: Nathan Patterson – 6/10
Patterson was injured and got replaced late in the game.
CB: Michael Keane – 5.5/10
He failed to make a difference off the bench.
RB: Ben Godfrey – N/A
