United’s interest in Overy was first reported months ago and now, the transfer has finally got over the line, with the defender now the latest addition to the youth ranks at Carrington.

This is after Erik ten Hag’s side received all the necessary clearances from the Premier League and the FA to complete the transfer for the right-back.

The starlet was named in United’s squad list (players under 21)  for the 2024/25 Premier League season, alongside the likes of Sekou Kone and Samuel Lusale.

It’s understood that Overy will link up with the Red Devils under-18.

If he impresses, he will presumably be promoted to the under-21 set-up before making the jump to first-team football if he continues on an upward trajectory.

Overy arrives at United from Perth Glory. He is a product of the Australian outfit’s academy but he did not make a senior appearance for them.

He had represented Perth Glory before making the move to England alongside his family and had been turning out for non-league side Newton Abbot Spurs.

A Leagues previously relayed that Overy caught the attention of a number of Premier League sides after his performance for Perth in a friendly against West Ham in July 2023.

However, United warded off competition to land his services.

Meanwhile, the Reds are still awaiting Premier League approval to confirm a deal for goalscoring sensation Chido Obi-Martin, who netted a mind-boggling 32 goals in 18 matches for Arsenal’s under-18’s last term.
