A newly released model has emerged, showcasing the stunning design of Manchester United’s upcoming training building at their Carrington complex.

Last year, United announced a £50m refurbishment of Carrington, in a bid to create a “world-class football facility with a positive culture to support future success.”

The club stated that the focus of the project was to “create a high-performance collaborative environment for players and staff.”

Architectural practice Foster + Partners, led by Manchester-born Lord Norman Foster, was appointed by the club to spearhead the endeavour.

Earlier this month, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United have earmarked a date for the opening of their new and revamped facility – July 31.

Now, Samuel Luckhurst has confirmed this, indicating that the Red Devils expect the main building to reopen before the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

According to Luckhurst, “Contractors are working seven days a week and doing overtime in an effort to have the £50million refurbishment ready for when the players return for the start of pre-season training in early July.”

The contractors are confident that the new building will be fully ready for use in time for the start of next season.

While construction has been underway, United’s first team players have been making use of the expanded academy and women’s facilities. However, this decision initially sparked heavy criticism toward Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, as it meant Marc Skinner’s squad had to relocate to temporary portable buildings.

Luckhurst has published a model of the new Carrington building, which is on display at the entrance to Foster + Partners.

It’s understood that the “dead space” of a balcony overlooking the training pitches will be transformed into a spacious communal area. A second tier is set to be added near the entrance.
