West Ham are understood to be making progress in talks for bringing a striker to the club this January.

Although talks have progressed well in recent days for Evan Ferguson of Brighton, it appears that a stalemate is the current state of affairs, with West Ham reluctant to commit to a permanent deal for the Ireland forward.

The club have therefore continued to explore other options this transfer window, with club insider ExWHUEmployee advising on the progress of talks for Daniel Cummings and Eli Junior Kroupi.

“West Ham are making a lot of progress with the signing of Daniel Cummings of Celtic,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way. “We are looking to make a pre contractual agreement with Celtic so that he joins at the latest in the summer. There has been some talk however that we could look to conclude the deal this window

“The club have also continued talks with a player we exclusively revealed yesterday in Eli Junior Kroupi of Loreint. Talks are continuing although it is though that Loreint want at offers around the £35m mark which could be beyond what West Ham value the player.

“West Ham are still in for Evans Ferguson although no terms have been agreed snd there appears to be a bit of a stalemate at this stage. Ferguson is currently playing for Brighton as I write this and whilst the deal hasn’t been completed ruled out, it is proving tough. The club could turn to Kroupi instead if things cannot move further.”
