There are some valuable assets in the squad at Ewood Park
Player sales have certainly been important for Blackburn Rovers over the course of the past year or so.
Currently, owners Venkys find themselves having to match any money they put into the club to the pound, back in their home country of India.
That has arguably limited the level of funds they have invested into Ewood Park recently, meaning money coming in from player sales has also been important for the financial stability of the club.
Blackburn have seen some big-money departures this year that have contributed to that, with Adam Wharton leaving in a club-record sale to Crystal Palace - reported to be up to £22 million - in the winter.
This summer also saw Sammie Szmodics leave Ewood Park for the Premier League, with Rovers reportedly receiving an initial £9 million from Ipswich Town for his services.
But which players could be next to generate a big fee for the club in the not-too-distant future?
Here, we've taken a look at the two players who may be the next big-money exits from Blackburn Rovers...
Having come through the youth ranks with the club, Hayden Carter had several spells out on loan, before establishing himself in the first team at Ewood Park in 2022.
Since then, he has made himself one of the most consistently reliable options at centre-back for Blackburn, which has seemingly not gone unnoticed elsewhere.
In the past, reports have claimed that Newcastle United are among those who have taken an interest in the 24-year-old.
Carter has continued to impress at the start of this season and has also shown his versatility with a stint at right-back, filling in for the injured Callum Brittain.
That will only make him a more appealing prospect to potential suitors and so it would be no surprise to see interest emerge in him again soon.
However, Carter still has a contract with Blackburn until the end of the 2026/27 season, meaning they are under no pressure to sell him any time soon.
As a result, Rovers are in a position to demand a big fee if they are to sell the centre-back any time soon, and have shown in recent times with other assets such as Szmodics that they will do that.
With that in mind, if Carter was to leave Ewood Park in the near future, it would surely have to be for a pretty big fee.
Club captain Lewis Travis has been in excellent form for Blackburn since returning in the summer, following his loan spell with Ipswich in the second half of last season.
There was again speculation in the summer about whether he would be moved on again, amid links with Championship rivals Hull City and Stoke City.
Travis though, insisted he did not want to move on again, which has been to Rovers' benefit with the performances he has produced at the start of the campaign.
His command of the central midfield area has been excellent and his tenacity is something the club certainly missed during his temporary spell away.
However, if he continues to perform in this way, he is another who could surely generate interest from elsewhere again once the window opens.
Even so, the 26-year-old has a contract at Ewood Park until the summer of 2026, giving the club scope to negotiate any offers, and they would surely want a big fee to sell to a rival.
As a result, if Travis were to leave in the near future, then those connected with Blackburn Rovers would surely expect for it to be in exchange for a rather large fee.
