Strengthening the defensive line after bidding farewell to Nacho and Rafa Marin remains one of Real Madrid’s top priorities as of now.

Leny Yoro, the teenage sensation from Lille, has long been admired by Real Madrid. His impressive performances and high ceiling have sparked significant interest, rendering him a prime target to bolster their defensive options.

However, the Merengues are not the only ones with a stake in the pursuit of Yoro. Interest from the Premier League continues to serve as a threat, particularly from Manchester United.

Indeed, according to Florian Plettenberg Manchester United are eagerly anticipating Yoro’s decision and are prepared to offer a substantial fixed sum ranging between €40 million to €50 million.

The club has structured a contract extension that could potentially bind Yoro until 2029, with an option for an additional year.

Yoro, for his part, is said to be stalling United’s offer, as he awaits a move to his dream destination, Real Madrid.

Lille’s reluctance to consider Real Madrid’s offer of €40 million has thus far complicated negotiations. Still, the Merengues believe that if Yoro holds his ground, Lille will be obliged to come around.

After all, the 18-year-old’s contract expires in 2025 next summer and the French side does not wish to run the risk of losing him for free, particularly with Manchester United’s patience running thin.

In any case, Real Madrid are unwilling to go above their limit and would be willing to wait until next year, when Yoro would become a free agent.

As the young talent weighs his options, a pivotal choice looms between Manchester United and Real Madrid, with both clubs vying for his commitment soon.
