Salah provided the assist for Diogo Jota's opener before combinig with Dominik Szoboszlai to open up his account for the season. The Egyptian's goal meant he has now scored more goals (nine) in Premier League opening day fixtures than any other player.

"I try to help the team all the time, the most important thing is that the team won the game, I'm always happy to score goals and getting assists so I just need to carry on," Salah said.

It was one of Alexander-Arnold's trademark passes to Salah that helped Liverpool break the deadlock with the right-back being at the spearhead of a much improved second-half display by Arne Slot's side. It's only taken one game for the England international to find himself ranked number one for expected assists (1.0) and big chances created (2) in the Premier League.

LIVERPOOL NEED TO PEN DOWN MO SALAH, TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD AND VIRGIL VAN DIJK WITH NEW DEALS

Liverpool's win at Ipswich was the latest example of how crucial Alexander-Arnold and Salah are to Liverpool, and with the pair, alongside Virgil van Dijk, entering their final year on their current contracts, it is vital that the Anfield side agree new deals with their talismen to avoid them departing Merseyside as free agents.

Liverpool FC face key contract decisions over Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah this summer.

It has been the first summer where Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move away from the club with rumours circulating that the 25 year-old is attracting interest from European Champions Real Madrid while Mo Salah is a mainstay when it comes to big names being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

In a summer of complete inaction in terms of incomings at Liverpool, the bigger picture portrays that knuckling down their current stars to new deals is as much, if not more, of a priority than new signings for The Reds.
