638 days after his last match, Presnel Kimpembe (29) has been included in a Paris Saint-Germain squad for the first time since having to undergo two lots of surgery on a troublesome Achilles injury.
The Frenchman was injured back in February 2023 and has not played since. Having undergone surgery in the wake of that injury, he was then forced to have another round of surgery at the end of last year. He has recently returned to first-team training and is now nearing a return.
Whilst Kimpembe has been included in PSG’s squad to face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, RMC Sport understands that he will not be on the teamsheet. Whilst he will be in Bavaria, he will therefore have to wait to make his return to the pitch.
The same does not go for Gonçalo Ramos (23). Injured on the opening day of the season, the Portuguese forward is expected to be on the teamsheet and could feature for PSG in what is a key Champions League clash.
Lucas Hernandez will also have to wait. The France international has not yet recovered from the knee injury that he suffered in May and that ruled him out of the Euros. Having returned to first-team training, however, an as he nears his return, PSG are nearly back to full strength.
