Swansea City host Oxford United this Saturday at the Swansea.com Stadium in Matchweek 46 of the EFL Championship. The match will be broadcast live at 12:30 on Sky Sports +.
The Swans have won 60 points to date and are currently in 11th - a good run of form from Alan Sheehan's team ending with a 1-0 defeat against Millwall last time out.
Oxford United, meanwhile, currently have 52 points and lie in 17th - Gary Rowett's team triumphing 2-0 against Sunderland to dispel any doubts regarding their Championship status next season.
The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-1 Swansea win.
Luke Davies (Swans Cast): Swansea finally had their winning run of five games in a row ended by Millwall last time out, missing out in after a tight 1-0 loss away from home. They head into their final game of the season at home to Oxford United, with neither team playing for anything substantial, both safe in the league.
Alan Sheehan has been confirmed as full time head coach at Swansea this week to end Swansea's managerial pursuit - Sheehan making it impossible for the club not to hand him the job after a terrific run as caretaker manager.
As much as Oxford will be no pushovers, I would predict Sheehan will get his squad well up to the task of ending the season with a home win here, to show the Swansea board they have made the correct decision in handing him the reins.
Stephen Gillett (Playmaker Stats on Oxford United): Oxford preserved their place in the division next season with a win over Sunderland and The U's deserve huge credit for what constitutes a huge success for the club.
As manager Rowett noted after the Black Cats win, Oxford had to rely on goals from their two centre-halves to win on Tyneside and they are not the most free-flowing side in the second tier by their own admission.
However, they have adopted a pragmatic approach and leaned into their strengths - only Derby (22) scoring more goals from set-pieces this term in the Championship than Oxford (19). The U's can attack this game now the pressure is off, although you would back the home side to win this one.
Swansea City ( vs Millwall 2025-04-26): Lawrence Vigouroux, Josh Key, Ben Cabango, Hannes Delcroix, Josh Tymon, Jay Fulton, Lewis OBrien, Gonçalo Franco, Ronald Pereira, Liam Cullen, Eom Ji-sung
Oxford United ( vs Sunderland 2025-04-26): Jamie Cumming, Sam Long, Ben Nelson, Michal Helik, Greg Leigh, Will Vaulks, Cameron Brannagan, Przemyslaw Placheta, Rúben Rodrigues, Tyler Goodrham, Mark Harris
