The game on matchday 23 turned out to be bitter for Inter, who couldn't find the right reaction against a determined and aggressive Torino. The hosts found the double advantage in the first half with two of their most dangerous men, Della Vecchia and Perciun, and sealed the win in the second half with Mendes.

The first chances of the match were for the Nerazzurri, with Spinaccè's attempt and Cocchi's shot from the distance both ending just wide. The Granata's response was a constant pressing that led to the first goal. After an attempt by Gabellini, Torino found the advantage with Perciun linking up with Della Vecchia in the box, who flicked the ball in. The hosts remained agressive despite being in the lead and ten minutes later, they found their second thanks to Perciun, who doubled their advantage with a powerful shot, swapping duties with their number 7. At this point, Inter tried to respond with Spinaccè, who turned well in the area but did not get the ball on target, then with Cerpelletti. In the second half, Inter tried insistently to shorten the gap , despite not having much success up front, and in the 87th minute, Tufano's side sealed their victory with Mendes scoring from Olsson's assist.

Zanchetta's team remains at 43 points in the standings and will prepare for the Coppa Italia derby on Wednesday 5 February at 18:00 CET.
