Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Manchester United remain highly interested in Nuno Mendes, whose contract with PSG runs until 2026.

Although PSG are keen to extend his deal, Mendes is opting to hold off on making a decision, especially with interest from top clubs. He is represented by the same agency as Sporting Lisbon’s coach Ruben Amorim, who worked with Mendes from 2020 to 2022, so PSG are aware of his situation.

Plettenberg gave an update on Saturday, mentioning that PSG are keen to extend Mendes’ contract beyond 2026, with all the details reportedly in place for the extension.

However, the 22-year-old left-back isn’t planning to sign just yet. He’s received interest from several top clubs and wants to take his time weighing his options. The Red Devils are closely watching his situation, but PSG still remain in a strong position to secure his commitment.

Mendes joined PSG in 2022 and he’s 98 matches across all competitions while scoring five goals and recording 13 assists for the French giants in these last three years.

The report doesn’t reveal how much Manchester United are willing to pay, but Transfermarkt puts the player’s transfer value at €55 million.
