Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luis Campos on Friday made use of the opportunity to reiterate his admiration for a leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona.

The player in question? Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine, for his part, has of course seen his name closely linked with French champions PSG on more than one occasion in the past.

As much comes with the capital outfit understood to hold a long-term interest in the signature of the Euro 2024 winner.

With memories of Neymar’s record-breaking Parc des Princes switch in mind, the PSG brass were tipped to target Lamine as the replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappé.

Some outlets even pointed towards an eye-watering offer in the region of €200 million as being set to land on the desks at the Camp Nou.

In the end, the transfer window of course came and went with Lamine staying put in Catalunya’s capital.

But, when drawn on the name of the 17-year-old on Friday, PSG sporting director Luis Campos could not help but hint that he remains interested in luring Lamine to Paris at some point down the line.

Speaking during an appearance at the ‘Thinking Football’ summit, as cited by Diario Sport, Campos began:

“It’s obvious that I like Lamine Yamal, but also other players who have a lot of quality. You can’t say that Yamal isn’t a great footballer. He’s an excellent player and seeing him play at the level he’s doing is incredible.”

The PSG chief, though, went on to add:

“It must be said that if we had signed all the players who appear in the press linked with PSG, we would have an incredible array of stars. The truth is that we are very happy with the squad we have.”
