Over the past week, a major scandal has erupted surrounding Inter and AC Milan ultras.

Nerazzurri ultras the Curva Nord and their Rossoneri counterparts the Curva Sud have been the subject of an investigation by anti-mafia prosecutors in Italy.

The prosecutors have made nineteen arrests thus far in their investigation. They allege illegal activities surrounding matchdays, as well as mafia ties.

The most high-profile arrest of an Inter ultra was Nord leader Marco Ferdico.

Meanwhile, Milan ultras leader Luca Lucci was also among the nineteen arrested.

Now, the prosecutors are carrying out their investigations. And as part of this they are set to interview a number of players, coaching staff, and club directors for Inter and Milan.

The prosecutors are focusing on anyone who had notable contact with the ultras under investigation.

In the case of Milan ultras group the Sud, the prosecutors will interview Rossoneri captain Davide Calabria.

And for Inter, all of coach Simone Inzaghi, Vice-President Javier Zanetti, and prominent former defender Marco Materazzi are among those who had contact with ultras.

But the prosecutors may not stop there, reports Tuttosport.

The newspaper note that prosecutors may call Inter midfielders Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu to testify regarding contacts they’ve had with the ultras.

And then there is defender Milan Skriniar.

The Slovakian is no longer an Inter player. He left the Nerazzurri last summer, joining Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Skriniar’s decision not to stay at Inter and extend his contract was a controversial one.

And the former Nerazzurri defender decided to explain his decision directly to the fan.

Therefore, Skriniar met with Nord leader Ferdico as well as his deputy Mauro Nepi.

During this meeting, Skriniar explained his reasons for not staying at Inter. Then, the Nord published a statement on the matter.

According to Tuttosport, Skriniar could be called on by prosecutors in Italy to testify regarding his interactions with Ferdico and the Nord ultras, despite no longer being an Inter player.
