Al-Sadd have confirmed in an official statement that PSG loanee Ilyes Housni (18) has suffered a partial tear of his cruciate ligament while on international duty for the Moroccan Olympic team. The Moroccan youngster will undergo scans on Wednesday morning to confirm the full extent of the injury.

Housni joined the Morocco Olympic team during the international break to participate in two friendlies against Denmark and the United States in Murcia, Spain. However, the international break has not gone to plan for the 18-year-old picking up a potentially serious knee injury which could see him facing an extended spell on the sidelines.

The PSG academy talent joined Qatari club Al-Sadd on loan from PSG in the summer transfer window. The former France youth international has played two times for the Qatari Stars League club to date. Following a full diagnosis of his injury, it is unknown whether the forward will return to Paris to undergo his rehabilitation.
