Paris Saint-Germain are in direct contact with Napoli over a deal to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this month.

The French champions are seeking a statement signing and are bidding to beat competition from the Premier League to land the winger.

Kvaratskhelia has the offer of a new contract from Napoli, but has failed to provide the Italian side with an answer on his future. The Georgia international is considering his options with PSG now firming up their long-standing interest.

Napoli are understood to value the 23-year-old at around €100m (£83.7m) and PSG are prepared to offer players in exchange to sweeten the deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, centre-back Milan Skriniar is among those who has been offered to the Serie A leaders. The Slovakian defender, who is a reported transfer target for Spurs and Aston Villa, previously had a successful six-season spell at Inter Milan.

Napoli have also been credited as admirers of PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani. The French forward is another who is free to leave the Parc des Princes after failing to win favour with head coach Luis Enrique.

Kolo Muani, who cost PSG €95m from Eintracht Frankfurt 18 months ago, could also be offered in the club’s bid to land Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia signed for Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in 2022 and immediately established himself as one of Serie A’s leading lights. In his debut season, he was named the division’s Most Valuable Player after helping Napoli to a drought-breaking Scudetto. He led the league for assists during that title success.

PSG want to make Kvaratskhelia the focal point of their new project, having failed to sign a replacement for Kylian Mbappe last summer. The Parisians are moving towards a longer-term project and want to add the winger to an exciting collection of young talent.

There are high hopes that the likes of Bradley Barcola (22), Warren Zaïre-Emery (18), Willian Pacho (23), Joao Neves (22) and Vitinha (24) can mature together into a successful side.
