Flamengo are not planning any more signings at the moment, but that has not stopped other clubs eyeing up the Rubro-Negro’s assets.
Following the high-profile sales of Vinícius Jr and Reinier to Real Madrid in recent seasons, attacking midfielder Lázaro is now on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain.
According to the Bola Vip website (via Gazeta Esportiva), the French champions are very keen on the 18-year-old.
Lázaro’s profile was raised considerably at last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The Brazilian prodigy scored an 89th-minute winner to knock out France in the semi-final before netting a 93rd-minute winner against Mexico in the final.
Flamengo wasted no time in protecting their interests, and renewed the teenager’s contract.
Lázaro’s current deal runs runs until March 2025, and it includes a release clause of €80m.
He was promoted to Jorge Jesus’ first-team squad for this season, but a combination of knee surgery and the Covid-19 shutdown has denied him the opportunity to make a splash at senior level.
