Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Oblak; Molina, Witsel, Gimenez, Reinildo; De Paul, Koke, Barrios, Lino; Alvarez, Griezmann.

Atletico Madrid started this season’s Champions League on the front foot with a 2-1 home win over RB Leipzig, but since then manager Diego Simeone has witnessed his side lose 4-0 at Benfica and 3-1 at home to Lille.

PSG have had a mixed bag of results in Europe this season, winning their opening game 1-0 at home to Girona, before a 2-0 loss at Arsenal and a 1-1 home draw with PSV Eindhoven.

Every point is crucial in the battle to progress from the league phase to the knockout stage of the Champions League this season and an intriguing battle awaits in the French capital on Wednesday night.

A tough night in Paris could await Atleti

Simeone will need his side to produce their performance of the Champions League campaign so far if they are to come away from Paris with anything to show for their efforts this week.

Paris Saint-Germain have made the Parc des Princes a tough place to go this season, with the Ligue 1 frontrunners unbeaten in their last seven home matches in all competitions, winning six of those games.

Currently on a two-game winning streak following a 3-0 win at Marseille and a 1-0 home victory over Lens, PSG boss Luis Enrique will be pleased with how his side have been performing at the back of late.

While the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe might have moved on to pastures new, PSG are still a formidable side to face on their own patch and Atleti will need to be at their best to take a positive result over the border to Spain.

PSG vs Atletico Madrid team news

PSG’s Goncalo Ramos is still unavailable due to an ankle injury, while Presnel Kimpembe and Lucas Hernandez are out with an Achilles injury and ACL problem respectively.

Enrique recently made the controversial decision to drop first-choice keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, meaning Matvei Safonov looks likely to retain his place between the sticks.

Marco Asensio started at the weekend and is set to retain his place up front, allowing Ousmane Demble to return to his more familiar role on the right flank.

As for Atleti, Simeone is dealing with some key personnel out on the sidelines, with Robin Le Normand (head), Marcos Llorente (thigh) and Cesar Azpilicueta (calf) all injured.

Thomas Lemar is a doubt, but Pablo Barrios should feature after coming through the weekend unscathed after a short spell in the treatment room with a muscle strain.
