Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Beraldo (20) has received a two-game suspension after receiving a red card in Sunday’s Le Classique victory over fierce rivals Olympique de Marseille.

In a match dominated by controversial refereeing decisions, the decision to send off Brazil international Beraldo was perhaps the most controversial. Already on a yellow card, Beraldo was adjudged to have fouled Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, just inside the PSG half, with the Gabonese forward looking to sprint through on goal.

Initially, only a foul was given, but after consultation with the VAR, a straight red was given, with Beraldo deemed to have denied a goal-scoring opportunity. Beraldo therefore missed PSG’s Coupe de France semi-final victory over Stade Rennais on Wednesday and he will also miss this weekend’s encounter with Clermont Foot. The next time the Parisien defender will be able to compete in Ligue 1 will be against Olympique Lyonnais, who are also PSG’s Coupe de France final opponent, on 21st April.
