There are a couple of exciting additions that the Blades may want to make in the coming days - and we have listed two of those potential signings.

Sheffield United will be keen to secure a Premier League return at the first time of asking.

However, the Blades face a number of obstacles in their quest to return to the top level.

Firstly, they have lost Cameron Archer and, with this in mind, they will need to address their forward department to add more firepower to their team.

As well as this, they need to get a takeover sorted and some signings in other areas over the line.

Their two-point deduction is unlikely to be a major barrier to promotion, but it could have a psychological effect on the team and Chris Wilder needs to do everything he can to ensure that the South Yorkshire side enjoys a successful start to the campaign.

However, there's clearly work to be done in the transfer market and this is why they need to focus on making some additions in the coming weeks, with the season fast approaching.

A potential takeover aside, we take a look at two dream scenarios that United will want to see this week.

Jesurun Rak-Sayki U-turn

Rak-Sakyi spent a chunk of last season out injured and, having been unable to make much of an impact under current Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the winger go out on loan this summer.

The last time he went out on loan, he was a major success, proving to be a very shrewd addition for League One side Charlton Athletic.

Considering he was such a goalscoring asset for Charlton, it seems as though a Championship move for the wide player is a natural next step.

If Wilder is going to play wingers next season, they will need to add quite a few players to this department and the Palace man could be a potential starter, as someone who has shone in the third tier and also played in the top flight.

His limited top-tier experience could serve him well at Bramall Lane if he makes the move - and he won't be short of motivation to do well as he potentially looks to become a long-term replacement for Michael Olise.

In terms of the Blades, they need more attacking firepower following the departures of Archer, Ben Brereton Diaz and Oli McBurnie, so recruiting Rak Sakyi could be an excellent addition.

However, they will face a considerable amount of competition for his signature, with Blackburn Rovers, Hull City, QPR, Luton Town and Watford all named in Alan Nixon's report as other sides that have taken an interest in the 21-year-old.

The same journalist believes the player may be keen to stay in or around the London area, which would be a blow for United in their quest to recruit him, with Luton, QPR and the Hornets likely to be better options for Rak-Sakyi if he wants to stay local.

The Blades' stature could work in their favour, but they may need to offer him a decent amount of game time too if Palace are to sanction a temporary move to South Yorkshire.

Whether this can happen this week remains to be seen, and given the player's preference, it might be quite the U-turn.

Sam McCallum may have joined the Blades, but Max Lowe was released in the summer and Yasser Larouci has also left following the end of his loan spell in South Yorkshire.

Rhys Norrington-Davies is another potential option on the left-hand side, but he hasn't played much in recent years due to injury troubles and even if he manages to stay fit for much of next term, he may be utilised as a centre-back option.

This means Peterborough United left-back Burrows could be an excellent addition at Bramall Lane, as a potential competitor for a starting spot.

Having two high-quality options on the left, with McCallum and Burrows both shining last term, could help the pair to maximise their performance levels.

If the latter has the license to get forward, either as a left-back or left wing-back, he could be a real asset in the final third, having registered 12 goals and 18 assists in 58 competitive appearances last term.

But the Blades aren't alone in this race, with Birmingham City also thought to be keen on the player.

They are a side that need to be taken seriously in this race, with Chris Davies' side reportedly having a huge budget for a third-tier club.
