Manchester United transfer target Randal Kolo Muani is looking increasingly likely to depart Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Last month, The Peoples Person noted a report claiming that Man United made contact with PSG to express their interest in signing the striker.

It didn’t take long, however, for other clubs to follow suite. Arsenal and Manchester City allegedly registered their interest in Muani, with a loan move on the cards if reports are to be believed.

While United have been linked with many long-shot transfers, Fabrizio Romano claimed that the 26 year old is almost guaranteed to depart the French capital as he struggles to attain game time at PSG, thereby indicating that a move to Old Trafford may be possible.

This update was all but confirmed by Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany with his latest update on the matter.

“Randal Kolo Muani is set to leave @PSG_inside during the winter transfer window. Concrete talks with potential teams about a loan deal are ongoing. PSG would like to include an obligation to buy,” his X post read.

“Currently, there is a strong chance he will move to the Premier League.”

“Understand Liverpool have gathered information, but nothing further has happened yet. Manchester United are monitoring the situation, but #MUFC do not currently expect a transfer to happen in January. Tottenham and RB Leipzig are interested. More teams keen on him.”

Given the interest in Muani expressed by such a vast variety of Premier League clubs, Ruben Amorim would be in for a tough time should he decide to enter a bidding war for the French striker sensation.

Still, a fight for Muani could prove well worth it if his form in the 2022/23 season for Eintracht Frankfurt is to be take into account.

Muani provided 15 goals and 14 assists in 32 Bundesliga matches that season, while scoring six goals in as many DFB-Pokal games, not to mention three assists. (Transfermarkt)

But even as Muani’s talent speaks for itself, Amorim may need to tread lightly in the upcoming transfer window should reports of his tight transfer budget prove valid.
